Renault
The Renault is a French global cars manufacturer. The Renault is a manufactures a range of passenger cars and vans and has a history of producing trucks, tractors, tanks, buses/coaches, aircraft and aircraft engines, and custom vehicles. Renault Trucks, formerly known as Renault Véhicules Industriels, has been part of Volvo since 2001. In 2008, Renault Agriculture became the 100 percent owner of the German agricultural equipment manufacturer CLAAS. Renault’s stake in AvtoVAZ is being sold to the Russian government as a result of the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Together, Renault and Nissan have invested €4 billion (approximately $5.16 billion) in eight electric vehicles over three to four years starting in 2011. Since the launch of Renault’s electric program, the group has sold more than 273,000 electric vehicles worldwide by December 2019. Renault is known for its role in motorsport, particularly in rallying, Formula 1 and Formula E. Its early work on the mathematical modeling of curves for car bodies is important in the history of computer graphics. Renault Clio, Renault Captur, Renault Megane, Renault Kajgar, Renault Arkana, Renault Zoe and Renault Trafic are the current production models.
