The General Motors-Holden, formerly known as Holden is  Australian subsidiary of General Motors. Holden was an Australian car manufacturer, importer and exporter that sold cars under its own brand in Australia. In the last three years, it has completely shifted to importing cars. Holden has resumed selling a range of Opel-derived cars, including the Astra VXR and Insignia VXR, as well as the Opel Cascada. Later that year, Holden also announced plans to sell the European Astra and South Korean Cruze from 2017 onwards.

With the closure of the Elizabeth factory, Holden ceased production of vehicles in Australia. Holden later became an importer of rebadged cars from various GM subsidiaries in the US, Canada, Germany, Thailand and South Korea. General Motors has announced that the Holden brand will be phased out by 2021 after GM announced that it would no longer make right-hand drive vehicles worldwide and that it would exit the Australian and New Zealand market entirely.
