The 2025 Acura ZDX is Acura’s first electric SUV to use General Motors battery technology. The 2024 Acura ZDX is a mid-size luxury crossover SUV with a dropping rear roofline developed by Honda for its prestigious Acura brand. It was originally planned that the car would be called “MSX”. The Acura ZDX was lanched at the New York International Auto Show on April 8, 2009 as a 2010 model.

The vehicle was also the first to be designed entirely at Acura’s Southern California design studio in Torrance. The Acura ZDX concept was designed by Michelle Christensen, who called it a 4-door luxury sports coupe that Acura says “blurs the distinction between coupe, sedan, and SUV.” The Acura ZDX SUV features Acura’s first six-speed automatic transmission, advanced ventilated seats and other luxury features.

Although the ZDX shares a similar profile to the Honda Crosstour, the vehicles are not mechanically related: the latter is based on the Honda Accord, while the ZDX is based on the Honda Pilot/Acura MDX. On August 19, 2022, it was announced that the ZDX nameplate would return to the Acura lineup in 2024 for the brand’s first electric vehicle. The 2024 ZDX will be developed together with General Motors.
