VinFast
The VinFast LLC is a Vietnamese private car company based in Vietnam. It was founded in 2017 and is a member of the conglomerate Vingroup, founded by Phạm Nhất Vượng. VinFast is the first Vietnamese car brand to expand into global markets, as well as the first to expand into the production of electric vehicles such as electric cars and electric scooters. VinFast is a newcomer to the world market. Based in Singapore, this Vietnamese carmaker quickly expanded its production from electric scooters to off-road vehicles, and its ambitions grew as fast as the size of its products.

The VinFast has purchased more than 2,000 acres of land in Chatham County, North Carolina, where it will build a factory in the state. The company plans to sell a two-row all-electric SUV called the VF8 and a larger three-row version, the VF9, here in the United States. While these models will initially be manufactured at an existing 827-acre factory in Hai Phong, Vietnam, VinFast plans to push the start button at its North Carolina plant sometime in 2024.
