Spyker
The Spyker Cars is a Dutch brand of sports cars owned by the holding company Spyker N.V. Modern Spyker Cars had legal rights to the brand. Spyker is a Dutch boutique supercar manufacturer that builds cars that are more like works of art than modes of transportation. The Dutch carmaker has struggled with a number of bankruptcies, most recently in 2021. In investment addition from Russian backers arrived in early 2022, with Spyker promising to build the C8 Preliator it first unveiled in 2016.

The Preliator promises to continue Spyker’s history of aircraft-inspired design and richly decorated interiors with quilted leather accents, metal trim and exposed gearshifts. Spyker is also known for its failed attempt to rejuvenate the Saab brand following the purchase of the Swedish automaker by General Motors in 2010. The Spyker’s checkered financial past seems unlikely to revive the few hundred sports cars it has managed to produce over the past two decades, which remain one of the most beautiful and complex vehicles of the modern era.
