The Proton Holdings Berhad is a Malaysian automobile company and automobile corporation engaged in the design, manufacture, distribution and sale of automobiles. Proton was established in 1985 as Malaysia’s only nationally branded car company until the arrival of Perodua in 1993. The Proton relies primarily on the domestic market for most of its sales and revenue.
