Mazda
The Mazda or Mazda Motor Corporation, commonly known as Mazda, is a Japanese multinational automobile company headquartered in Fuchū, Hiroshima, Japan. Company founder Jujiro Matsuda chose the word “Mazda” because it was the name of the Zoroastrian god of goodness and light. Work on the small sedan began in the late 1930s, but development was halted so the company could join Japan’s war effort. After World War II and the reconstruction that followed, the company refocused its efforts on the development and production of automobiles.
Mazda manages to make vehicles that drive extremely well, look really great and are still affordable. The Japanese automaker boasts a wonderful line-up that includes everything from the Mazda MX-5 Miata fun sports car to the Mazda CX-9 three-row crossover that’s all in one. While the industry is moving away from sedans, the zoom-zoom brand is delivering amazing renditions, such as the compact Mazda Mazda 3, which delivers enthusiastic driving characteristics. The company also challenges top-selling compact crossovers from Honda and Toyota with the athletic and luxurious Mazda CX-5.
