The design and general vibe of the 2024 Audi Q8 e-Tron is similar to the rest of the luxury carmaker’s lineup, so the only element that needs to be adjusted to is the powertrain. Two electric motors provide four-wheel drive and up to 402 horsepower. Acceleration is strong, but not as abrupt as that of shotgun rivals like the BMW iX, Jaguar I-Pace or Tesla Model X. High-tech features adorn the Q8 e-tron’s quiet cabin, something the Audi faithful have come to expect.

There are two body styles as standard Q8 e-tron and the sportier, faster 2024 Q8 e-tron Sportback, but neither screams eco-friendliness – in fact, they couldn’t look more conventional. Whichever body style you choose, the Q8 e-tron comes with a battery pack that delivers a useful real-world range that promises to rival other luxury EV SUVs. In addition, it can be quickly charged at a public charging station if you are traveling long distances.

The 2024 Q8 e-tron’s most impressive technology is its electrified systems, but the five-seat crossover also has a premium and practical cabin. Its dashboard is equipped with several high-resolution screens that include Audi’s digital gauge cluster – called the Virtual Cockpit – and two flush-mounted touchscreens in the center. Every Audi Q8 e-tron’s infotainment system operates via two touchscreens, with a 10.1-inch screen on top and an 8.6-inch unit below. While the upper screen provides access to the standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto applications and the available Bang & Olufsen audio system, the lower screen is used primarily to control the climate settings. In addition to multiple power points, the system also has a subscription-based Wi-Fi hotspot; a wireless smartphone charger is optional.

The standard equipment for the e-tron includes 12-way heated and ventilated front seats, a panoramic moonroof and 20-inch wheels. The interior is in line with other Audi models, with a 10.1-inch infotainment screen, a smaller 8.6-inch touchscreen, Amazon Alexa voice control, Virtual Cockpit and an optional head-up display. Other equipment includes a Bang & Olufsen sound system and an available Driver Assistance package with enhanced adaptive cruise control, automatic park assist and night vision. The e-tron is the second production car to offer optional virtual side mirrors, which replace traditional side mirrors and instead use cameras that transmit images to a high-contrast 7-inch OLED embedded in the door panels.

2024 Audi Q8 e-Tron : Engine

The Audi e-tron is powered by a 95 kWh battery pack, of which 86.5 kWh are usable. The Audi eTron can be charged from zero to 80% in about 30 minutes using 150 kW DC fast chargers. For home charging in the EU, the standard 11 kW charger charges the pack in 8.5 hours, while the optional 22 kW charger cuts that time in half. In the US, the 40A 9.6kW J1772 charger is used instead. The quattro electric four-wheel drive uses two electric motors, one mounted at the front and one at the rear. This allows the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 6.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 200 km/h (120 mph).

Audi says the 2024 Q8 e-tron’s 106.0 kWh battery should provide up to 300 miles of range on a single charge. If that estimate is correct, it would give the Q8 e-tron a competitive range rating against rivals like the I-Pace and Model X. Each e-tron has a 170kW fast charger that allows it to charge 80 percent of its batteries in about 30 minutes.
