2024 Acura RDX
The 2024 Acura RDX is a compact luxury crossover SUV manufactured by Acura, the luxury vehicle division of Honda. The Acura MDX initially shared the platform with the Honda Civic and Honda CR-V, Acura RDX uses its own platform. The Acura RDX 2024 interior is more comfortable and feature-packed with an optional engine upgrade for buyers looking for more power or a hybrid option.
Overall, the 2024 Acura RDX is worth a look if a buyer is looking for a luxury SUV at a good price, especially compared to European rivals like the Audi Q5, Jaguar F-Pace and Mercedes GLC. The 2025 Acura RDX represents the ultimate value among luxury SUVs – you can live without the envy that BMW and Porsche offer as standard. The Acura MD-X’s turbocharged four-cylinder is plenty powerful, and its crisp handling is satisfying on a twisty road, but its 10-speed automatic transmission and brake pedal feel could use some refinement.
Inside, the Acura is nothing like the Genesis GV70 or Volvo XC60, though it comes standard with a similar level of technology and convenience features. Acura offers the RDX in one trim, but offers several different packages to spice it up. Front-wheel drive is standard, but all-wheel drive is available.
2024 Acura RDX : Interior
Inside, the center stack is a bit busy, with plenty of buttons, a touchpad, and a large rotary drive mode selector front and center. The version we tested had the striking red seats of the A-Spec package and several other exclusive styling elements. The Acura provides a sportier experience than the Honda CR-V could offer. Nothing feels cheap or fancy, and the riding position is high enough to satisfy SUV enthusiasts and flexible enough to appease driving enthusiasts. The RDX also has a large pass-through storage tray under its floating center console.
Every RDX has a 10.2-inch touchscreen mounted high on the dashboard, and cab be controlled via the touch pad on the center console. Acura calls the control intuitive, but it took us a while to get used to it. The 2024 RDX comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto wireless capability as well as a Wi-Fi hotspot as standard. An optional Technology Package adds in-dash navigation, rear-seat USB ports, a 12-speaker ELS Studio audio system, and more.
2024 Acura RDX : Engine
Each RDX is powered by a 272-hp 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission and front- or all-wheel drive. The Acura RDX is a turbocharged four-cylinder that develops 272 horsepower. The standard 10-speed automatic transmission generally shifts smoothly and makes the most of the engine’s power. The Acura’s fuel economy is good for a luxury compact SUV. With standard front-wheel drive, the RDX 2024 gets up to 22 mpg city and 28 mpg highway. All-wheel drive models are estimated to get up to 21 mpg city and 27 mpg highway. The RDX drives and handles well. It takes turns with more boldness than enthusiasm, although all-wheel drive models have extra road grip and a bit more sportiness. Driving comfort remains pleasant on most road surfaces.
