Lucid Group, Inc. is an American electric vehicle manufacturer based in Newark, California. The Lucid cars was founded in 2007. Deliveries of the initial Dream Edition versions were made available to the first group of 520 reservation holders on October 30, 2021. Lucid’s CEO and CTO, Peter Rawlinson, was previously Vice President of Engineering and Chief Engineer of the Model S at Tesla, Inc., and Vice President Derek Jenkins previously served as design HOD (Head of Department) at Mazda North American.

Lucid Motors is an electric vehicle startup that also supplies batteries for the Formula E racing series. Based in Silicon Valley, it is led by Peter Rawlinson, former chief engineer of Tesla’s Model S. Its first model is the Air sedan; an SUV alternative called Gravity is expected to follow. The government said Lucid was chosen because the company is setting up a full production plant in Saudi Arabia – its first international production plant, which aims to produce 150,000 cars annually.
